Official Launch of the Strategic Partnership between Oona and VFS Global

Jakarta, 21 October 2025 – Oona Insurance Indonesia has announced a strategic partnership with VFS Global, the world’s largest visa outsourcing and technology services specialist for governments, to make visa applications more seamless for Indonesian travelers. Through this collaboration, applicants can now purchase Schengen-compliant travel insurance directly at VFS Global visa application center.

A common challenge for travelers is finding the right travel insurance which is often a mandatory requirement for visa approval, particularly for Schengen countries. By integrating Oona’s compliant travel insurance into the VFS Global application process, applicants can secure the necessary coverage while submitting their visa documents, ensuring a smooth and confident submission.

“At Oona, we are dedicated to helping people by removing complexity from their preparation, especially when specific requirements like travel insurance are involved,” said Vincent C. Soegianto, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President Director, Oona Insurance Indonesia. “This partnership allows us to deliver essential protection right where travelers need it most, making the experience more seamless and reassuring, so they can focus on planning their journey.”

Travel insurance is a mandatory requirement for visa applications to the Schengen Area’s 27 member states, which require policies with at least €30,000 (around Rp540 million) in medical coverage and repatriation.

Recent data from OONA shows that Schengen travel insurance purchases grew significantly in Q1 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, underscoring the rising demand for international travel protection. Individual travelers accounted for more than 70% of these purchases, reflecting Indonesia’s growing outbound mobility for both leisure and business travel.

This soaring demand is further amplified by structural shifts in the travel landscape, including the addition of new countries to the Schengen Area, and regulatory changes like the new “Visa Cascade” policy launched in July 2025—which significantly simplifies obtaining multi-entry visas for up to 5 years. These factors collectively underscore the opportune timing of OONA’s partnership with VFS Global.

“As the year-end holiday season approaches, this partnership enables us to support travelers with more comprehensive and streamlined visa experiences, Vincent added. “For consumers, it provides a single touchpoint that reinforces their trust in Oona as a reliable travel partner.”

The partnership is now available at VFS Global Visa Application Centre,  Kuningan City Mall (1st floor), Jakarta.
