The partnership between Oona Insurance Indonesia and ASTINDO West Java marks the beginning of a collaboration between an insurer and travel agencies
Jakarta, 11 December 2025 – OONA Insurance Indonesia has officially partnered with the Indonesian Travel Agents Association (ASTINDO) West Java (Jabar) to strengthen comprehensive travel protection for both inbound visitors and outbound travellers originating from the province. This collaboration reinforces OONA’s commitment to making comprehensive travel protection more accessible through trusted travel-agent channels.
West Java is the most populous province in Indonesia, home to 50.34 million residents (BPS, H1 2025), and consistently records the highest number of outbound journeys. From January to October 2025, residents of West Java made over 180 million domestic trips, averaging 18 million trips per month. With travel activity at this scale, the need for seamless, reliable travel protection has never been more critical.
According to Julien Pierre Combaret, Director of OONA Insurance Indonesia, this partnership leverages the trust placed in travel agents to deliver accessible travel protection for their clients. “We recognize that travel agents are trusted decision-makers for travelers. By seamlessly embedding OONA’s comprehensive protection from the trip-planning and booking stage, we ensure that adopting travel insurance becomes easier, faster, and truly aligned with travelers’ needs,” Julien said.
OONA Insurance Indonesia offers a complete protection package for both domestic and international trips, including coverage for international visitors traveling within the province. The coverage includes medical expenses, emergency situations, and loss of baggage or other personal belongings. OONA also provides international travel insurance that meets Schengen visa requirements.
This partnership was marked by the signing ceremony held in Bandung, attended by Julien P. Combaret, Director of OONA Insurance Indonesia, and Joseph Sugeng Irianto, Chairman of ASTINDO West Java, along with leaders from various travel agencies across Bandung.
“We always recommend insurance to all our clients because it is a fundamental part of travel planning. Our priority is to ensure that travelers can enjoy their trips safely and with peace of mind, whether they are visiting Indonesia or traveling abroad. We recommend OONA Insurance because of its comprehensive benefits, tailored coverage, and affordable premiums,” said Joseph Sugeng Irianto, Chairman of ASTINDO West Java.
Through this partnership, inbound travel insurance facilitated directly by ASTINDO-affiliated agents provides financial protection against risks such as illness, accidents during high-risk outdoor activities (such as trekking or diving), lost baggage, and trip disruptions while in Indonesia. This integrated approach ensures that international travelers can enjoy Indonesia’s natural beauty and major cities safely and without unexpected risks.
This collaboration with ASTINDO West Java marks the first step toward broader nationwide cooperation. “OONA will continue signing partnerships with ASTINDO chapters in other provinces to expand inclusive travel protection across Indonesia,” Julien concluded.
